About Convey

Helping Deaf and hearing Jamaicans learn together

Convey is a self-funded Jamaican initiative making Jamaican Sign Language more accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant through self-paced learning resources.

Our mission

To make Jamaican Sign Language more accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant through self-paced learning resources that empower families, educators, professionals, and communities to communicate more confidently.

Our vision

To become a trusted starting point for learning Jamaican Sign Language, a culturally grounded accessibility platform that bridges Deaf and hearing communities across homes, schools, and workplaces.

Meet the founder

Kori Solomon

Kori Solomon is a Jamaican UI/UX Design Lead, product designer, and accessibility advocate. Through Convey, he is building a self-paced Jamaican Sign Language learning ecosystem that combines online tools, physical learning resources, and community-informed design.

His work is grounded in the belief that design should help people feel seen, included, and connected. By applying human-centered design, accessibility principles, and digital innovation, Kori aims to make JSL learning more accessible to families, educators, students, professionals, and communities across Jamaica.

Convey is proof that when purpose meets collective effort, barriers begin to fall and communication begins to rise.

What we stand for

Five pillars guide everything we build

Accessibility

Learning should be open to everyone.

We remove barriers to learning JSL with clear, low-friction, mobile-friendly experiences.

Empowerment

Communication creates confidence.

We help parents, teachers, students, and professionals gain the confidence to communicate.

Cultural Relevance

Local identity matters.

We are proudly Jamaican, centered on JSL and respectful of the Jamaican Deaf community.

Progressive Learning

Small steps create mastery.

We build structured, self-paced growth from first exposure to real-world communication.

Community

We grow stronger when we learn together.

We build with Deaf students, parents, educators, interpreters, and advocates.

Built with community

Community-informed, not created in isolation

Convey does not claim to speak over the Deaf community. We seek to build with, learn from, and collaborate alongside the Jamaican Deaf community. Their feedback has made our resources more accurate, respectful, usable, and relevant.
